The registered version of GeoNiche automatically begins communicating with the GPS receiver when it starts when the following conditions are met:

• The Multi-use preferences item is not selected.
• GeoNiche was communicating with the GPS receiver when it was last running.

To see this in action, use the following procedure:

1. Go to the GPS Receiver Preferences screen.
2. Uncheck the "Multi-use" option.
3. Go to the GPS Initialization screen.
4. Tap [Start].
5. You should see text messages appearing in the "GPS Receiver data" box. This means that communication with the GPS receiver is occurring. If no messages appear, visit the GPS Receiver Preferences screen, select a different GPS receiver, and try again. You may also wish to check the GPS receiver connection and batteries.
6. Exit GeoNiche by tapping the "Home" icon on the handheld, or some other way (powering off, for example).
7. 7. Launch GeoNiche again by finding its icon and tapping it.

GeoNiche automatically begins communicating with the GPS receiver. It will do so no matter which screen or mode GeoNiche starts in.
