Saving previously recorded routes
Submitted by jephf on Sun, 04/27/2008 - 09:08.
I recorded two routes from the Navigation screen by clicking the 'record' button. I didn't create a new route in the Routes screen first. Both of my recorded routes display on the Navigation screen but neither show in the Routes screen. I can't seem to find a way to save them now that neither is active. Is there a way to save and export these two routes?
Thanks,
Jephf
Recording Routes
When Record is tapped, GeoNiche appends your movements to the most recently accessed route on the Routes Mode screen. This allows you to easily resume recording after pausing (for example, if you want to explore a side trail).
Since you didn't create new routes, GeoNiche extended the route you most recently accessed. The name of this route can be displayed on the Navigation Mode screen by adding the
(Record Name)keyword to the 1:, 2:, or 3: fields on the Program->Preferences->Layout->Navigation screen. A handy trick would be to create a layout for route recording. This layout would show which route you are recording by displaying(Record Name)on the Navigation Mode screen. You can export the information that you just now recorded by going to the Routes Mode screen and immediately selecting the Route->Share menu item. If you choose Single Route on the dialog that pops up, GeoNiche will export the most recently accessed route. But, it will be exported as one big route with multiple segments. If you export in GPX format, you can use a text editor to split the segments into different routes and then re-import them into GeoNiche through EasyNiche.

Recording Routes - thanks
Thanks for the great answer. You answered questions I really didn't know I had, yet. Thanks also for the program. This has to be one of the best programs for palm, overall.
